Colorado Boulder University partners with MindStrong Sport to support athletes mental performance

Colorado Boulder University and MindStrong Sport have announced as new partnership offering support to all athletes.

The partnership gives student athletes free access to the mental performance app that providing a growing library of meditations, mindset courses, breathing exercises to help athletes be more focused, fearless, and stronger in their minds.

Created by former pro athlete and mindset coach, Lewis Hatchett, the app aims to improve mental performance and health by building mental strength.

”My own story in sport is about how your mind can play one of the most vital roles in achieving your goals. But most importantly, the sport psychology literature aligns with practices such as meditation, visualisation, self-talk, breath-work and so why not give athletes a chance to develop it? MindStrong Sport is their ‘mental gym’ to build a stronger mind. We believe that mental health is not a choice, but mental strength is. And I believe if we feel stronger, or wellbeing benefits too”

Allison Mallory, Mental Performance Consultant at University of Colorado Boulder said: “We are very excited about this partnership with MindStrong Sport. We feel this app is a great tool student-athletes can utilize to enhance their mental game and reinforce the mental performance work we do through team workshops and individual sessions.”

Athletes such as Lebron James, Novak Djokovic state the benefits of mental strength and training their minds through practices such as meditation and conscious breathing. Colorado Buffaloes athletes now have a dedicated resource to help them practice just that.

The MindStrong Sport app is now available for all athletes at Colorado Boulder University.
